Journey Home March 4
We did the 180 mi trip from Ensenada to LA overnight with no problem (the ship traveled about 5600mi on the cruise).
We got off the ship fine and got to the LAX airport by 1000am for a 100pm flight.
It turned out that was good because Ann was stopped by TSA since she tested positive for explosives (we think it was the lavender talcum powder she used that morning). It took 45 minutes of interviews, checking and a final review by an explosives 'expert', before she was allowed to proceed to the departure gate.
The flight was fine, although a bit bumpy near Dulles airport. However, there was a major problem at the baggage department. One of our bags arrived on baggage carousel 2 (that was the one I checked at the gate at the request of the airline because of the full flight). The other bags arrived at carousel 4 and I didn't learn about this until later. Ultimately, we spent about 90 minutes between deplaning and getting our baggage.
The shuttle home was fine and we beat the snow which began the next morning. The final image shows the snow that fell in our backyard on March 5 (and it had snowed several other times while we were gone).
